There are three types of Writing Retreat offered through Write On Changemakers.

The first are short online retreats which will give a taster into the experience of writing alongside others. They are free to access and accessible to folk all over the world. Turn up on zoom at a specified time, take some space to talk about your current writing project, mute yourself and then … write. Practice the discipline on writing with a time boundary and an expectation of just keeping going for 15 or 30 minutes in the first instance. See what happens. You might surprise yourself.

The second are intensive writing retreats that provide a supportive, guided space to think about writing, talk about writing, and … get writing. These take place on location in Hertfordshire and Devon and will incur a fee. They are fully catered and involve only small groups at a time. One-to-one support and feedback is available. These offer a rich opportunity to reconnect with our activism and our drive whilst also working on our writing.

The third are intensive writing collaborations and will bring together activists and changemakers to work together on a shared writing project, as well as having space to talk and think about activism and about their changemaking work. These are face-to-face events and formats will vary depending on location and the specific intention of the group. THE SOUL FIRE WRITING RETREATS, run by Max Hope and Sophie Christophy, take place twice a year. Details here.
